They discussed the benefits of using edge inference to address growing concerns around device security, and how the technology has evolved to be able to meet new and more ambitious goals. The possibility for smart home devices to be able to understand their context – and use that context in their communication with each other – could enable home devices to build a smarter, more powerful, and more useful local ecosystem.
